In der Januarausgabe gab Men’s Health den Vätern den Tipp, die ersten zwei Monate als ‘Vollzeitpapi’ mit ihrer Frau zusammen zu nehmen, um sich von ihnen in die Krabbelgruppen und Spielplatzrituale einführen zu lassen.
Das Thema ‘Papa allein im Park’ griff in dieser Woche auch Sara Schaefer Muñoz im Juggle Blog des Wall Street Journals auf:
In “Little Children,” recently nominated for three Academy Awards, Patrick Wilson plays a lonely dad who takes care of his young son all day and has no real peer group. He’s gawked at by other moms every time he goes to the park.
And in his recently released memoir, “Crawling, A Father’s First Year,” Elisha Cooper describes taking his daughter to the park. “I was the only male except for the homeless guys. I just wasn’t part of the culture. Underneath the outward smiles, the mothers viewed me, I think, with a bit of suspicion. Maybe it was my unshaven face or my shorts.”
I don’t usually hang out in the playground during the week. But I personally wouldn’t think twice about a dude with a kid and some stubble. In fact, I think many women are pleased to see dads in the caretaker role. Yet we hear the same story again and again: stay-at-home dads don’t fit in.
Vätern fehlen an diesen Orten die Netzwerke, einerseits sind sie zwar ‘der Hahn im Korb’ andererseits bekommen sie aber signalisiert, dass sie irgendwie nicht so richtig reinpassen.
